Star Legal's Bromsgrove Branch is seeking applications for the following jobs:

Care Department Solicitor - Bromsgrove

We are looking to appoint an experienced Solicitor to join the Care department at our Bromsgrove office.  

The successful applicant will:
 

  • be 5 years PQE+ ; 

  • ideally hold the Law Society’s Children Law Accreditation and meet the LAA requirements for supervisor status, although we are happy to consider candidates with proven sufficient experience who may be working toward the same;

  • have proven significant experience of dealing with both public and private children law proceedings;

  • be able to deal with a wide range of cases, including complex care proceedings. 

  • undertake a high degree of advocacy, essential in this role;

  • work closely with clients in a highly client-facing role; 

  • have a professional, friendly and reassuring approach to clients;

  • deal with your own caseload with support provided within the team, adhering to tight deadlines and being able to prioritize work as required; 

  • display good communication skills and be a strong team player;

  • be comfortable adhering to compliance, policies and internal systems;

 

This is a full-time position based on-site at the office.

Star Legal's Abergavenny Branch is seeking applications for the following jobs:

Private Client Solicitor

A great opportunity has arisen for a Junior Private Client Solicitor to join our well-established and supportive team in our Abergavenny office handling a broad range of private client work. There are two full STEP members solicitors and a CTA member solicitor in the team amongst others. This role is ideal for someone at the early stages of their career who is looking to build strong foundations in a friendly, reputable practice. You will be encouraged and supported in pursuing qualification as a full member of STEP.

The Role

You will work closely with experienced STEP and CTA solicitors in the team on a varied caseload, which would include:

             Drafting Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney

             Estate administration and probate matters

             Trust creation and administration

             Advising on inheritance tax and estate planning

             Court of Protection and deputyship work (depending on experience)

             Supporting senior fee earners on more complex matters

You will have regular client contact, opportunities to develop your technical skills and the chance to build long term relationships within the local community.

About You

             Newly qualified or up to 3 years’ PQE (applications from trainee solicitors approaching qualification are welcome)

             Some experience in private client work, either through a seat or post qualification

             Strong communication skills and a client focused approach

             Organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities

             A team player with a willingness to learn and develop

             Empathetic, professional and confident dealing with sensitive matters

Star Legal's Wokingham Branch is seeking applications for the following jobs:

Residential Property Solicitor/Head of Office

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced residential property Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer or Chartered Legal Executive to join our Wokingham office on a full-time basis. The role will also be to perform the Head of Office position.

The successful applicant will:

·        ideally have recent experience working in Wokingham and/or Berkshire;

·        have a proven track record in building excellent relationships with local estate agents and referrers of work;

·        have very strong technical skills, excellent client care and a collaborative, team-based approach to working;

·        have a proven track record in managing workloads to achieve financial targets; and

·        be comfortable with adhering to compliance, policies and internal systems.

The successful applicant will need to have at least 5 years PQE in residential property and an efficient and well organized approach to managing client work.  You will have a professional, friendly and reassuring approach to dealing with clients, as well as the ability to work to tight deadlines and to prioritize work.

Strong IT skills using Microsoft Office are essential and prior experience of using case management systems is required.

Star Legal's Swindon Branch is seeking applications for the following jobs:

Part Time Litigation Fee Earner

The Swindon office of Star legal require a part time litigator to deal with a general civil litigation case load to help out a partner who has a very busy case load. These are  principally contractual claims, negligence and some simple construction and possession actions. You will need to be at least a two year qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive or an experienced paralegal able to deal with your own case load, work to deadlines and hit targets.

The position could be self-employed or salaried. Remuneration will be at least market rate dependent upon experience with a performance bonus for exceeding targets. We are looking for someone to work 2-3 days per week and provide holiday cover if required.

We envisage the role will be hybrid or flexible mostly working from home with occasional days in the office or in Court. It would be helpful if you lived within reasonable travelling distance of North Wiltshire to facilitate this.
