Office Administrative Assistant
We are looking for a person to join our office administration team.
We are a Law Firm based in Walsall and recognised for the exceptional Legal Aid work that we do. Joining our team, you will be responsible for providing support to ensure the function of time recording, file management and legal aid billing procedures that is vital to our business and is managed, accurately and efficiently.
In addition, you will be undertaking the important routine admin duties that keep our office running smoothly and are essential to the smooth running of our business.

Skills and requirements:
Billing:
Checking files for accurate time and travel
Creating and Inputting of Legal Aid Bills through the firm’s case management system and management of online billing submissions, in particular Mental Health Billing
Timely archiving of files when monies are received for payment of bills.
Management of petty cash
Management of files returned from Costs Draftsman
Admin Duties (to assist Office Manager)
Providing Support for reception lunchtime/holiday and sick cover at the Walsall office
You will meet and greet visitors, book meeting rooms, answer the reception telephone, forwarding appropriately. Deal with incoming post and recording of incoming cheques. Franking of outgoing post and respond to e mail enquires.
Occasional visit to our branch in the Aldridge office to provide holiday cover same.
Archiving
Retrieval and return of files to storage including accurate record keeping
Communicating with Archive Storage to identify files that are due for destruction and record keeping
Ad-Hoc Duties
Stationery and Office Supplies Control
Weekly confidential waste
Assisting with Health and Safety test of office fire alarms weekly.
Running ad-hoc errands.
Salary dependent on experience. (£NMW - £25K)

Department Assistant: Family Law
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a confident and capable individual at our Bromsgrove office as Department Assistant, supporting the Family Department
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is organised, articulate and eager to learn. Previous experience in a legal environment would be advantageous but is not essential, as training and support will be provided.
The role will involve providing administrative and organisational support to the Family Department and assisting with the day to day running of a busy team. Duties will include preparing correspondence and documents, managing diaries and appointments, responding to client enquiries and supporting the team with general administrative tasks.
The successful candidate will have strong IT skills and be proficient in using the Microsoft Office suite of applications. They will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, accurate and professional correspondence and demonstrate strong attention to detail. The ability to conduct themselves in a professional manner when dealing with clients by email, telephone and face to face is essential.
Candidates must be efficient with administration and paperwork and possess excellent organisational skills.

Star Legal's Swindon Branch is seeking applications for the following jobs:
Part Time Litigation Fee Earner
The Swindon office of Star legal require a part time litigator to deal with a general civil litigation case load to help out a partner who has a very busy case load. These are principally contractual claims, negligence and some simple construction and possession actions. You will need to be at least a two year qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive or an experienced paralegal able to deal with your own case load, work to deadlines and hit targets.
The position could be self-employed or salaried. Remuneration will be at least market rate dependent upon experience with a performance bonus for exceeding targets. We are looking for someone to work 2-3 days per week and provide holiday cover if required.
We envisage the role will be hybrid or flexible mostly working from home with occasional days in the office or in Court. It would be helpful if you lived within reasonable travelling distance of North Wiltshire to facilitate this.
