Part-Time Legal Secretary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Legal Secretary to join our busy Private Client department. A successful candidate will be have previous experience working in a law firm and is able to manage a challenging variety of duties including:

·         Secretarial support to fee earner

·         Communicating with clients and other related parties.

·         Transcription of Dictation.

·         Diary Management.

·         File Management - Electronic filing of documents and paper filing.

·         Working within an electronic case management system.

·         Time recording. 

·         Preparing documents, letters and forms                                             

The role will bring a varied workload which includes administration of estates, preparing Wills, Trusts and lasting powers of attorney, and applying for deputyships.

You will need strong word-processing and audio-typing skills and must have experience of using Microsoft Office.  Prior experience of using case management systems would be advantageous, but is not essential.

Hours of work:  Part-time hours to be advised

Salary:  Dependent on experience.

Star Legal's Abergavenny Branch is seeking applications for the following jobs:

Residential Property Lawyer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced residential property solicitor or chartered legal executive to join our expanding Abergavenny office on a full-time basis.

You will need to have at least 3 to 5 years PQE in residential property and an efficient and well organised approach to managing client work.  You will have a professional, friendly and reassuring approach to dealing with clients, as well as the ability to work to tight deadlines and to prioritise work.

You will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with local estate agents (existing connections would be an advantage, but is less important than the ability to develop and nurture relationships with estate agents).

Strong IT skills using Microsoft Office are essential and prior experience of using case management systems would be advantageous.

Commercial Property Department

Our busy Walsall branch is in search of a Legal Secretary to work closely with a Lawyer who specialises in commercial work for businesses including civil and commercial disputes, property and other transactions based at our Aldridge office.  Previous experience working within a commercial department would be an advantage.

You will be responsible for:

  • Transcribing and proofread legal documents
  • File, organise and scan, copy and fax legal documents
  • Schedule hearings and other meetings
  • Diary Management

Skills

  • Experience of working in a law firm( working within a commercial department an advantage)
  • Computer literate with fast accurate audio typing skills

Mental Health Solicitor/Caseworker

The Star Legal Walsall office in the West Midlands is seeking a mental health solicitor/caseworker to undertake tribunal and related legal work on behalf of detained patients.

Our mental health department in Walsall is very busy and expanding, and has a strong team ethos.

Star Legal's Swindon Branch is seeking applications for the following jobs:

Private Client Lawyer

Our Swindon office wish to recruit a an experienced private client solicitor or legal executive to deal with their existing Wills, Probate and Estate Planning caseload. This could be on a fixed term, part time or contract basis.

The Swindon office are looking for someone with an ability to empathise with a wide range of elderly and younger clients. Versatile communication skills including a strong telephone and face to face manner are needed for this varied and hands on role. It is essential that you are a team player with the capabilities needed to manage bereaved clients, those seeking estate planning advice and to organise a strong client base.  

Salary is negotiable depending on experience.

The successful candidate will need to be comfortable using a case management system and Microsoft Office functions.
