How much does it cost?
We are up front and open about the fees we charge. The general rule is that there is no legal aid for Tribunal claims and no costs awarded on either side. One way or another you have to pay! Some claims can be covered by an insurance policy, typically a house and contents insurance policy, and we will look at a no win – no fee or conditional fee arrangement but the reality is that there rarely make any financial sense for either client or Solicitor.
If you have to pay on a commercial basis we will try to keep fees to a minimum but inevitably there will be a significant cost. We prefer you to remain in control, we are happy to keep you up to date with costs as they are incurred, to do specific pieces of work on a fixed fee basis and allow you to set the budget. Sometimes we cannot avoid charging on an hourly rate but we will never do work which you have not authorised and with at least a good estimate of what it might cost. What we can say is that for the experience and expertise you have access to we charge less than almost all our major competitors.
